About Auroville
Auroville is an experimental township located in the south of India, near the city of Pondicherry. It was founded in 1968 by Mirra Alfassa, a French woman known as “The Mother,” and was designed as a place for people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds to live together in peace and harmony.
